Many folks at ANGFA think that Galaxialla pusilla should be the "pin up" fish for Victoria: It's colourful, breeds readily, eats mosquito larvae, cohabitates well with frog spawn, and is probably the perfect fish for backyard ponds in our region - except for the fact that it is a threatened species. Once common throughout much of southeastern Australia, most of it's original habitat is now gone and populations are increasingly fragmented. ANGFA Victoria is partnering with DSE to help increase public awareness and further knowledge of the current distribution of this fish. Once this is known we will be in a position to help this beautiful fish survive and be enjoyed by all.
